The Met Gala is next week, what to wear to a Gala many may wonder? The Met Gala itself has a theme and your outfits need to be approved by the one and only Ms. Anna Wintour. You can find out about all things Met Gala here. With this being said, I am not speaking about the Met Gala in particular. However, you may one day need to attend a Gala and need some ideas of what you can wear. This is what I will be speaking about.
Let’s be honest, it’s not every day that many of us are asked to go to a Gala. Maybe I should only speak for myself, but I know I am not asked nor have I ever been to one. Even so, just because we never ate at the restaurant does not mean we cannot look at the menu. Not sure if that phrase applies here exactly, lol but you catch my drift! We can all dream or act like we are going to a ball and look at different gowns to wear. It’s fun and if or when that day comes that you are asked, you will always have a point a reference here to bounce ideas off of.
I do have a post that I made that I share some ideas for Red Carpet looks here which you may think is the same. Although this may be true, Gala looks can be a little more formal than a Red Carpet. Furthermore, it can differ depending on what kinda Red Carpet we are talking about.
This gown here is for all of my romantic look loving folks. Its very feminine and kind of flirty and with the gold it adds some sexy!
This year’s Met Gala theme is CAMP and this gown is kind of giving you that, maybe a little more muted but for some people this would be over the top, so it can work. Outside of being camp-ish, this gown is beautiful! Paired with the silver mesh bag and white bejeweled stilettos, it wins!
If you are looking for a look to give Regal Realness, then this one here is for you. It’s very simple with the rhinestone embellishments, but it’s enough to turn a head or two. The acrylic tote adds a conversation piece to the look and with the shoe, you have a showstopping assemble.
Bell of the Ball
If you are looking for a princess look, this here is the epitome of that! I am sure every little girl has once dreamed of going to a ball or gala in a look like this. The pink dress with the acrylic clutch works well together in an odd way. Paired with the simple silver stiletto and you are sure to be the Belle of the Ball!
You could get away with this look being considered Camp if you had maybe a huge crown on or some type of facepiece to go with this assemble. Other than that, this here is giving me Goddess. The bag is a perfect match to fit into this ancient inspired look. The shoes add the perfect glam element to complete the Golden Goddess effect.
Royal in Red
A gown for every age! No matter how old you are you can slay in this gown! The red and the draping effects in this dress screams royal elegance. Paired with the simple and chic clutch and the blinged-out stiletto, you’re a crowned Queen.
I am not sure about you, but I love to sparkle! This gown in person gives way more than the photo. The lavender purple is so pretty paired with the purple and pink clutch. The shoe looks like it was made for this dress. Every star must shine and with this look, you will shine like no other!
