Red carpet looks are not something that celebrities have privy to. Everybody can achieve a Red Carpet look. To achieve this, you just need to be properly styled. If you are anything like me, you do not have a closet full of dress-up clothes. As a result, you have to go out and purchase something which can suck! When I say red carpet look, I am not meaning you are going on a red carpet. However, I think you should think of getting dressed up that way!
If you are asked to attend a gala, art gallery opening or even a cocktail party, you should always be ready! I believe in shopping your closet for events, not the stores. Of course, you will need to go shopping period to have options in your wardrobe. However, each time an event comes up, you should be at ease with your fashion options. Mind you I am speaking to myself while I am typing this as well. I always have to go out to pick up something or just not go to an event that requires me to dress up. So if this is you too, we need to get our shit together, lol!
To begin with, you can start purchasing pieces to build your wardrobe after a season. For example, in the winter, like in January, look online and in stores for summer/spring dressy garments. You can find some great pieces to add to your collection this way! All while saving coins! Sooner or later you can have a wardrobe full of clothes for a myriad of different events!
Style and Fit
With this in mind, we also need to make sure we are coordinating properly and mindful of fit. There is nothing worse than thinking you are killing it, and your fit is off, and you are looking a mess! I have seen some not so good things on red carpets. Horrible styling and improper fit can ruin a look! How do you avoid this?
One way is to make sure you know your size and the correct one. I would advise getting measured by a tailor to know what your exact dimensions you are in garments.
