Appropriate Office Attire looks have always been somewhat of a personal challenge for me. I mean its not rocket science, even so, I think the simplicity of it is what makes it hard. How is that you say? Well, its a form of dressing down from formal business dressing which I also do not like. Dressing anything down in my book is not the most enjoyable thing for me to do personally. I never really find clothes for formal or casual business dressing honestly that I like. At least I did not in the past. At the present time, they have clothes that fit the body better for men which have been a major issue for me. Nobody wanna go around wearing Steve Harvey suits, lol!
Not only that, but I find that office-appropriate attire can be a little “beige” if you will. A lot of times, the colors and style choices people make when dressing office-appropriate is very much a case of the “samesies”. Everybody looks the same. Not to mention when searching for business casual looks on the internet, you find a lot of the same kind of looks as well. There is no flavor! Although this may be true, it’s all in what you make it at the end of the day. Business casual looks do not have to be as boring as some make it out to be.
How do you fix this?
With that being said, I figured I was not alone in feeling this way. If I had this issue with office-appropriate, other men and women probably do as well. This is why I wanted to curate some looks that fall in the guidelines of office appropriate, but with color and some pizzazz. With this in mind, however, you want pizzazz, but you do not want to get to sexy (which happens to be a go-to for me) in the office space. You want to be taken seriously in the business space and being too sexy can pull focus to things and situations that we want to stay away from. Be that as it may, you can have color, pizzazz and still be sexy without doing to the most.
In conclusion, office-appropriate attire looks can be fun if you let them be. If you’re not sure how to go about it, I am here to help. Below I will share men and women’s office-appropriate looks that are appropriate for the office but can also transition over to happy hour or an evening dinner.
