When you hear anything about a boiler suit, is it just me or do you also think about a greasy mechanic, lol? When I heard the boiler suit was a thing, I thought to myself, so everybody going to be walking around in Dickies suits? After doing some research, I found that boiler suits are a lot more fashionable than what I was thinking.
Because I have always associated boiler suits with mechanics, I had some questions. What do you wear with a boiler suit? How do you make it look feminine and add some flava? These questions inspired me to create some looks of my own.
You know I had to share these looks with yall! So let me show and tell you all about boiler suits!
What Is A Boiler Suit?
According to Wikipedia, a boiler suit is a one-piece garment with full-length sleeves and legs like a jumpsuit but usually less tight-fitting.
Its main feature is that it has no gap between jacket and trousers or between lapels, and no loose jacket tails. It often has a long thin pocket down the outside of the right thigh to hold long tools. They are clearly speaking about the boiler suits similar to what a mechanic would wear, but you get the gist.
It usually has a front fastening extending the whole length of the front of the body up to the throat, with no lapels. It may be fastened with buttons, a zip, velcro, or snap fasteners.
That definition is a little too technical for me, but I think its important to know the proper terminology and definitions of garments. In the event you’re looking for it and need to describe it to a sales associate etc.. you have this reference.

The number 1 thing I love about boiler suits is that all body types can rock them. You may have to accessorize them differently but in any event its all body type friendly.

Boiler suits can also be found at very affordable prices. Yes, the high-end designers sell them at prices the cost of a mortgage, but you do not have to break the bank to get in on this trend.

Another positive about boiler suits is they can be worn in all seasons. You can easily add a layer to a boiler suit like a trench coat or boots and it can be worn in the Fall/Winter season.
I personally like to have clothing that can be worn in all seasons. I am not one to put away clothes for the winter and bring out clothes for the spring. Having all-season friendly clothing not only adds versatility to your wardrobe but can also save you money. That’s a win-win in my book!
Another bonus, COMFORTABILITY! Being comfortable in your clothes is so important. Wearing something that your not comfortable in takes the fun out of wearing clothes. You can wear a boiler suit from day to night and not think nothing of it, while still looking good.
Lastly, its age-appropriate for all ages! I have never seen anyone in a boiler suit and thought to myself she is too old or young to be wearing that. So with this being said, you could buy a boiler suit and it can live in your closet FOREVER!

This look can be worn pretty much to any event in any season. It’s bright though so if you don’t like a lot of attention, this look may not be for you, lol!
Sophisticated Lady! This look is the perfect way to dress up a boiler suit! The scarf adds a touch of elegance to this look. I see wearing this on a movie/dinner date with BAE. This is an easy peasy fashion win ladies!
I love a good pop of color. This to me is very casual but it’s chic enough to wear out to a happy hour or maybe wear it on a date to a sports event. This is MY version of athleisure, lol!
Remember I said Boiler Suits are affordable, this Boiler Suit is $44.00 at Pretty Little Things. This look right here screams Spring/Summer. I like this for a coffee date on somebody’s outdoor patio. Is it just me or do you love eating at outdoor patios in the Spring/Summer like me? Patio hopping is life!
Boiler Suits are considered to be part of the Utilitarian family but this look is the epitome of that. I’m a fan of this money green and white look! I think this look is nightclub friendly, I would wear it to a club or a night out. You could also wear this for some day drinking, lol!
Date Night! This is how you wear a boiler suit when you going out for a night on the town, it can be with BAE or your girlfriends. Its a stunner either way! Another thing I like about boiler suits is, you really only have to focus on the accessories when you put a look together. That to me is easy! If it’s not for you, that is what you have me for, lol!
Black and White are always right! I would wear this to an event of any kind. If you not scared you going to get dirty, you can rock this all day comfortably. This look here is so effortless and is one of my favs. Diva Realness for sure!
Another color combo I LOVE! Very versatile as to where you can wear this! I think this is a patio hopping friendly look. Or if you ever do a red carpet or fashion show, this look actually works! The sky is the limit with boiler suits!
I saved the best for last! This look right here is fresh off the runway realness! If you are going to an event you will be photographed, there is a red carpet situation or celebrity sightings, wear this! Any event where you trying to kill’em, you wear this!
In conclusion, anybody with any body type can rock a boiler suit. There affordable, comfortable and ageless! If you don’t have one, ladies, I think you should get one, you know how to style them now so there is no excuse, lol!
