How Can You Look Stylish In A Sweater?

Fall/Winter season has approached some of us sooner than others lol. You may call it sweater weather, to me it’s called getting cold ASF weather!

So if we must cover up, we need to find some cute ways to do it. Sweaters is one way that you can achieve this. How do you style a sweater in a stylish way though? That’s where I come in!

Some people say that sweaters are the most versatile piece you can wear in the Fall/Winter because you can curate some many outfits with them.

A lot of people love the Fall/Winter just because of the layering of pieces and all your options. I am not one of them, I’ll take warmer weather any day! But for all your sweaters lovers out there, this post is necessary.

I agree that sweaters are able to be worn with many different types of garments and can be easily transition from day to night depending on what the place/event you are attending at night.

Sweaters have taken a turn for the better in the Fashion world if you ask me! Sweaters have not always been on my first list of things I would consider fashionable. I always related them to the elders, lol. The reason being is my grandmother.

She would always buy me a sweater every Christmas and I would never wear it. I felt like wearing a sweater was like for getting dressed up and when your young, that is not something you really like to do.

Hell, I struggle with getting dressed up now, but I’m working on that lol. Sweaters stock has gone up in my book since as they continue to evolve. I might add one to my closet some time soon, lol.

I do not know about you, but I do not have that many damn sweaters in my closet, not one at all actually. But at least you and I both now know the proper terms for them all, lol. You can click the link above to see what they look like.

Now lets get to the meat and potatoes of all my posts for me, THE LOOKS! I did not use all the different styles above but the looks I curated works for many different day/night time activities. Get into them ALL!!

Stylish with a jean skirt

I love anything with stars on it! This sweater is so cute and paired with all the rest of the pieces, she is a slam dunk! I would wear this to any event I was going to be photographed in or somewhere your expected to show up fashionably correct.

The boots and the bag are everything and matches so well with the sweater. This is how I would do a sweater!

Stylish with animal print

This sweater gives me Freddy Krueger t’s but its cute, lol. I love the skirt paired with this sweater because it adds some edge to the look. The pattern mixing is not normally my personal thing, but for somebody else, this mixing is cute!

Low key, you could wear this for Halloween as Freddy Krueger’s fashionista girlfriend. I will not be mad if you take this idea, its on the house, lol!

Stylish with shorts

Well hello there Instagram fashion influencer! I can see any one of the influencers I follow wearing this look here. I can actually see this in a high fashion magazine as well. The pairing of the sweater with the shorts is FIRE!

Here is another one where I mixed some patterns, but they do not clash at all! I personally think every woman in the world should have a pair of animal print knee high boots in her closet, PERIODT! This look is perfect for Fall!

Stylish with a jean pant

Wear this when you’re trying to be casual and stay warm! This would be the perfect look to wear to the grocery store! I spend way more time at the grocery store than I would like, why not be cute while I am there.

I am not normally an advocate for flats, but these ones are so cute and match perfectly with the sweater. If you must wear flats, add some with some type of personality like a pattern, embellishment or something that doesn’t look like your wearing your grandma shoes.

Style it with tweed

Cher Horowitz called and wants her outfit back! I like the color pairing with this look here! A lot of the girls don’t like to be this matchy matchy but I do! You can wear this out on a date with BAE or if your out out trying to find a new one!

I love a good sweater turtleneck and a mini-skirt combo. I would actually wear this in the winter with some stockings. Its just a win-win look all the way around.

Style it with floral prints

I love a cute cardigan sweater! Especially this one here that matches so perfectly with the flowers in the pants. I actually like this look for work. You may save it for casual Friday and then hit an Happy Hour after work, but you wear it any other day as well.

Cardigans are perfect to cover up at work if you’re wearing something that may not be so suitable during office hours and then take off after work to let your lace front down and paint the town red.

Style it with leggings

I normally am not the biggest fan of leggings and a sweater because I think its an overdone outfit pairing. But in this case, I am going to let it pass because of the Chanel bag. How can anything look bad with a Chanel bag, lol.

I think this would be cute to wear out to eat or a movie date. One thing for sure with this look is it looks comfy. If you want to be cute and carefree, WEAR THIS!!

So with my magic virtual touch, you now see that sweaters can be fly when curated with the right pieces. Gone are the days of looking like a librarian when you rock a sweater.

There is nothing wrong with being a librarian, but the librarian look should not be a go-to look for everything, I’m just saying.
